"For I know the plans I have for you,"

“’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” --Jeremiah 29:11

Some of you know that this scripture from Jeremiah is one of my favorites. It is one that came up for me over and over during my call to ministry—which was a pretty tumultuous and crazy time in my life. And, it has continued to come up in times of change and trouble as a reminder to me that God is always there for my good. It is the scripture that I chose for my Bible cover, it is the one that I have hanging in my living room, and it is also the one that adorns the notepad on my kitchen refrigerator. That same scripture is also one of Pastor Charlene’s favorite scriptures, as well as Pastor Marilyn Coney’s, and I even found that it was one of only two scriptures that my father ever underlined in his Bible.

And in times of great change when I am not sure of my next steps, I return to this scripture over and over again to remind myself that I don’t need to know what the next steps are because God has already plotted them out for me. He has created the map and He will light the way for what is next, no matter what that is.

As many of you know, this spring and summer is going to bring changes for our church and for myself and family. And although not all of the details are hammered out in stone, I know that God is good and that He has a plan that is greater than anything I could imagine. And so, I continue to step out in faith and hope knowing that He has a plan for such a time as this. Blessings, Pastor Amy
